My approach to video game development focuses on creativity and efficiency. It is not about using the latest, most resource-intensive tools or techniques, but rather about optimizing resources to achieve the best results where they are needed, all while minimizing performance costs.
I enjoy learning new tools and techniques, but I carefully evaluate how to integrate them effectively with the game in development.
Some of the prototype work I have done includes:
Photogrammetry capture, process and game integration of a full ground surface material library.
Implementation of a material with dynamic surface degradation, wetness, autumn leaves and snow.
Full weather, time of day, and season lighting framework.
HDR capture of 360 degree sky domes.
Workflow to allow vegetation to reflect seasonal changes in conjunction with lighting system.
Procedural tree creation workflow.
Created a benchmark reproduction of a real road to evaluate Unreal as an engine for Dirt Rally 3.0.
Photoscanned road details like road paint and potholes to use as decals.
Participated in a gamejam re-skin of GRiD by modelling one car and some buildings in addition to setting the lighting.
Developed shaders, landscapes and PBR benchmark assets for a ship mobile wargame.
Developed the art of a Mech combat game from whitebox to advance concept.
Modelled and rigged concept robots to test part and material changes and upgrades.
Created concept landscapes using photogrammetry and erosion simulation software.
Reproduced a section of New York and converted it into an apocalyptical environment to use as a visual concept.
Jumped into any opportunity to test a new tool or develop a new technique.
